we went to go and visit the Harry Potters warner brother studious. this trip did benefit me when looking at how some illusions were created in the films. I was mainly looking for ways which I could interpret the magical feel within the films, as this would help a great deal when getting through to kids imagination and seeing what attracts them in a magical world.
I could create minatur mackettes like these of different places which kids dream of going for example castles, pirate ships ect... places that children get excited about.
I
this was used as a sweety shop in harry potter, only these sweets could make u have animal voices or make you look ill to get a day of school. something which I think adults would think was cool.
distorted quirky and fun.
looking at colours shapes and patterns which go well together to create a simple illusion.
objects which would move by themselves which wouldn't in a reality world for example irons, sweeping brushes, blankets, knitting needles , dishes, and even staircases. Creating an illusion which are amazed by and believe in magic, which Leeds them to believe in wizards mermaids, pirates and famous Disney characters like peter pan.
these two doors also intertwined and moved when opened.
these two were displayed as a box getting smaller but looked like a long hallway, simple techniques to create an illusion.
Bedrooms layed out in a magical castle, kids imagine how they would make there bedroom look and what they could do in it.
this piece is attractive its bright its crystaly and also looks like it is made out of ice this is something that would catch any bodys eye not just kids.
also looking at how the characters within the film acted and dressed, long capes old fashioned dresses. also ther was hagrid who was seen as a friendly giant by looking at his size and his kind nature to animals and students.
this was the cupboard which harry got sent to when his evil aunt and uncle thought he was being naughty its kind of like a child having a naughty step which they got sent to when they though they had done nothing wrong.
from this visit it helped with ideas towards making a children's den or playhouse where they could play and let there imagination run wild. but also putting adults into a situation of playing and thinking like they did when they were little.
