why did we play games?

why is it as a child we are so interested and encouraged to play games? ion it was a great and effective way for us to develop our social skills where making friends and learning to take turns and share, also it was to help intellectually understand and simplify certain reasons of why we do some things and how, teachers and parents use games as an example in real life situations to get kids to understand the importance with some things. But was this the reason why we were so interested in playing games because it would impact on us as we got into the adult world? but i guess this is the same as asking why do we enjoy anything, what sparks our original interest and why is it there?

Hot or cold
i found out online that the game hot or cold can be used to teach kids dynamics within a music lesson.
the game was described that first you would select two students one which would leave the classroom until they were asked to come back inside, whilst the other student would hide a certain object in the classroom which would of been chosen to begin with. the rest of the students in the class would also know where this object is hidden, when the other student is asked to come back in to the classroom he has to now look for the object when doing so the rest of the students would be asked to sing a song of there choice and where they thought the student was looking close to the area where the object is hidden the students would sing the song louder and when they knew he was looking far away from the object is hidden they would sing quitter.

you can use this game to explain crescendos and diminuendos, piano and forte, pianissimo and fortissimo ect.

every game we were probably encouraged to play was learning and teaching tactics to help  all physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development needed throughout your life as we get older each of these elements become more enhanced in day to day life.
